Fearful or Unsure?

Sometimes people feel very strong emotions when they get involved with counselling. Sometimes people worry that they will be overwhelmed by their emotions. These are normal feelings. In face-to-face counselling, the counsellor is there with you to help you get through these times. But when your counsellor connects with you through secure e-mail messages, you have to manage your emotions on your own. Your counsellor cannot be with you as you read your messages.

If you are worried that you might have strong emotional reactions to certain topics before you begin online counselling, I think it would be wise to pay attention to your intuition. I invite you to contact us, either by PrivacEmail or by phone, so that we can talk it over with you.

Or, you may just choose to find a face-to-face counsellor instead. I would be happy to offer you some tips on how to find a good face-to-face counsellor.
